ABOUT NIKE

Nike does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. We are a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries, and push out the edges of what can be. We’re looking for people who can grow, think, dream and create. We thrive in a culture that embraces diversity and rewards imagination. We seek achievers, leaders and visionaries. At Nike, it’s about bringing what you have to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Community Director is responsible for the acquisition, engagement, and retention of our Creators (grassroots collaborators) and their network of Consumers.

The ideal candidate for this position is a rare individual who can: build and advocate for a community of underrepresented (artists, designers, athletes, storytellers), be on the pulse of culturally relevant trends, educate and empower Creators through effective tools and content, and is an expert at performance / social marketing who can impactfully market our Creators and lead them to market themselves.

This role will lead acquisition campaigns — targeting audiences who we believe will be good Creator candidates. Their team will utilize our proprietary machine learning software to narrow candidates and they will ultimately be responsible for casting public ‘drops’ (themed design challenges).

Our Creators are a community and crave connection. The Community Director will define and manage how we connect the community on and offline, driving the development of new features in the digital Creator Studio (where Creators design their shoe and tell their story) and also hosting virtual and in real life events.

This role will utilize our Incentive Program to drive quality engagement of our Creators during drops. They’ll have a perspective on how to evolve Incentives to be more effective over time.

Creators, who may have no previous experience, are responsible for promoting themselves, their story, and often the cause they stand for. This role will drive the evolution of the content and tools that educate Creators on how to design a great-looking shoe, tell their story, and market themselves in an effective way through their social channels.

Many programs and processes are being formed as it transitions in the Nike core business. Candidate must be a dynamic leader who’s comfortable working strategically and tactically on a team that is growing and evolving quickly.
