Job Title: Oracle Project Accounting Consultant

Location: Hoboken, NJ (REMOTE)

6-12+ months

Job Summary/Description:

The Enabling Program (TEP) is an exciting global program which will, through the simplification of our many systems and processes, transform the way company operates.

It will give us greater visibility of our people, greater insight into our financial performance and better bargaining power with our suppliers.

Role Overview & Purpose:

This role supports the TEP Delivery Manager for the global rollout, working with the Oracle Project Accounting (OPA) Global Process Owner (GPO) on Implementation requirements for the Global OPA Implementation.

Furthermore, the role will support post go live efforts and stabilization of the Global Design ensuring proper control environment and a solution in place to adequately support businesses using OPA.

Working across multiple time-zones globally will require a uniquely flexible approach to stakeholder management and a maturity in the individual's own management of their work-life balance.

Key Deliverables:

Support the TEP Delivery Manager to deliver the target operating model and policies for OPA that promote standardization, simplification and efficiency balancing centrally provided services with business retained responsibilities.

Drive transformation needed to successfully implement the new system solution, organization, process and policy.

Work with the Change Communications and Training (CCT) team to support the Change Network and Train the Trainer efforts.

Serve as a Change Lead in the Change Network and appropriately support with the Change Agents and Experienced Users.

Understand and Identify Change Impacts for Organizations in scope for TEP and communicate appropriately with Change Agents and Experienced Users.

Provide input on development and ongoing updates of training materials

Participate in testing and business simulation, ensuring appropriate and thorough test cases are chosen and robustly tested.

Work within the global design for OPA; challenge proposals to change the global design where appropriate; advocate for change where appropriate. Workstream/Line Management


Work supportively and collaboratively with other teams

Build relationships and trust with key stakeholder to support program delivery and collaborative approaches where appropriate

Communicate in line with communications and program plans with team and wider stakeholders

Essential Skills /Experience:

Ability to gain understanding of the global business, process requirements and credibly advise on leading practice based on demonstrable experience across various organizations and industries

Some project management skills, in change and transformational activities

Have or build up a strong understanding of Pearson ways of working including finance, accounting, reporting and internal controls as it relates directly or indirectly to Project Accounting

Build a strong network of connections across Pearson businesses to ensure that the right decision makers can be brought to the table in a timely manner.

Build up an understanding of the Global Pearson environment enough to understand the need to design effective global processes

Post graduate professional or equivalent business qualification

Ability to actively promote and represent the core deliverables of the program Personal Style and Behavior

Qualifications and experience required:

Significant in a senior finance role

Fluent English speaker

Experience working in a multi-national matrix organization

Strong understanding of material and ability to prioritize across competing agendas

Deep accounting knowledge qualification as an accountant or MBA degree

Ability to identify business risks and implementation of tactics to mitigate Understanding of financial control, business performance management and process optimization and experience of working in more than one of these areas

Awareness of multiple business models and experience of working with more than one

Proven capability to develop and lead high performance, diverse teams

Participation in international projects, may be short or long term (preferred but not required)

Knowledge of Oracle Project Accounting applications essential
