Title: Field Organizer

Compensation: $40-45k plus performance-based bonus

Term: Full-time

Location: Remote/travel

Position overview: Solstice is seeking an outstanding Market Expansion Coordinator who’s excited to scope, scout, and launch operations in new markets. You will lead our expansion efforts and chart out our strategy in new localities. You will travel to different geographies to build Solstice’s presence in that region and spread the word about community solar. You’ll help us ramp up our operations in different states by conducting initial outreach to organizational and corporate partners, recruiting field-based staff and ambassadors, and assessing new marketing opportunities and strategy (e.g. out-of-home advertising, news and print media). The right candidate is a natural explorer, loves meeting new people, is reliable, communicative, and passionate about climate change mitigation.

We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable charting new territory with the support of the Outreach and Marketing teams.

Responsibilities will include:

Frequent travel to territories where Solstice is launching new projects

Initial outreach to and building relationships with corporates and community organizations, including houses of worship, workplaces, community centers, schools, and service organizations

Recruitment of field-based staff to join our team and lead offline outreach efforts in that geography

Recruitment of and organize Ambassadors to spur referral engine

Make recommendations for community outreach and customer acquisition strategy that is tailored to localities

Documentation of all activities in our CRM systems

Evaluation of new marketing channels, namely out-of-home advertising, news and print, and other offline channels

Qualifications:

6 months – 2 years of sales or political/community organizing experience

Ability and desire to travel frequently

A great communicator – you love talking to people

Entrepreneurial and a driven self-starter

Full of positive attitude – you see challenges as learning opportunities

Hungry to be part of a team that motivates and inspires you

Passionate about renewables, cleantech, and/or sustainability

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Process-driven, highly motivated, competitive, yet team-oriented

Willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion

Access to a car

As a Market Expansion Coordinator, you will gain:
